The main focus and goal in internet marketing is to get as many links pointing back your site as you can. The more links to your site the more visitors you will receive, and the more visitors you receive the more people you’ll get signing up to your programs or buying your products. There are many strategies out there, but here are a few of the best to help generate customers and cash.

Firstly you need to have a professional looking website, which is easy to understand and has a catchy sales page to draw people in. There is nothing worse than having a fantastic ad or article pointing back to an unprofessional looking website that turns people away ruining all your hard work.

One of the most highly used advertising strategies in internet marketing is pay-per-click advertising. Google Adwords is just one of many pay-per-click advertising tools on the net, but in my opinion is one of the best. The beauty of this type of advertising is that you only pay when someone clicks on your ad. Whereas if you advertise in your local paper you are paying for the ad space regardless if anyone looks at your ad.

A lot of money can be made from this form of advertising and a lot of money can be lost if you don’t know what you are doing. It’s definitely worth taking the time to learn as it can be a very powerful form of advertising.

Another internet marketing strategy which is actually free is becoming a member of business chat forums. Forums are great places to learn and get support. They have a mixture of successful internet marketers and beginners so there is no reason to feel shy about contributing to a discussion or asking questions.

When you do participate in a discussion and post a response you are also advertising your business and showing a link to your site, as you will have your sig file attached to every post you make. A sig file is an ad placed at the end of your forum posts with a link pointing back to your site. The more posts you make the more links you will have.

It’s important though not to use your posts as advertisements for you business. When you reply to a topic it should be for the purpose of adding value to the discussion. When you do this and post informative answers and ad value to discussions people will appreciate you and there is more chance that they will click on your link.

Article writing is another free advertising strategy that is very effective. One of the great things about articles is that they last forever, and you could have one article that you wrote years ago still generating traffic today.

When you write an article and have it distributed and published on the internet you become and instant authority and are regarded as an expert. When people read it and get some helpful information from it they appreciate you and begin to trust you. Then if they click on your link at the end of your article and visit your site, they are more likely to sign up with one of your programs or buy one of your products.

It’s important to write articles that are related to the content of your website as your website needs to supply additional information to your article.
